James Cordon and Ruth Jones have spoken about the inspiration for their hit sitcom Gavin and Stacey in the run up to its finale on Christmas Day.
Cordon said he attended a wedding in Barry Island, Vale of Glamorgan, and that was where the idea began brewing.
“It really struck me that I’d never really seen a wedding like this on TV,” he said.
“It was really these cultures coming together – very similar, and yet completely different.”
Jones added she was “very proud to be Welsh” and liked to find her “inner Nessa” when she was nervous.
