Tributes have poured in for a ‘brilliant and funny’ university student who was found dead at his accommodation.
The body of Ruben Agado, 18, was tragically discovered on the Stirling University campus on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the student’s halls just before 2.30pm after receiving reports of a sudden death.
The halls are in the Alexander Court area of Bridge of Allan, owned by Stirling University in Scotland.
Ruben’s heartbroken family, from Letham near Forfar, paid tribute to the ‘brilliant’ student and said they are suffering from ‘unbearable pain’ following his death.
They told The Courier: ‘Ruben was a brilliant guy: very funny, very intelligent, and with an intense interest in the world around him.
‘To have him ripped from our lives so soon, so suddenly, and without any known cause is unbearably painful for us all.
‘His absence leaves a massive void that can never be filled.’

A University of Stirling spokesperson said: ‘Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with family and friends at this difficult time.
‘The University is liaising with the police and ensuring that students and staff are fully supported.’
Professor Kirstie Blair, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University, said: ‘Having enrolled at Stirling in September 2024, Ruben was a first-year student within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and was in the early stages of his university journey.
‘Ruben will be very sadly missed by our university community.’
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ‘Around 2.20pm on Friday, February 7 2025, officers were called to the Alexander Court area of Bridge of Allan following the sudden death of an 18-year-old man.
‘The death is being treated as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
‘A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.’
A university spokesperson added: ‘The University is in direct contact to provide support. Additionally, our Student Services Hub operate in-person, phone, email and live chat facilities and support is available at all university-managed residences.
‘Further details on the mental health and wellbeing support available to you can be found on our dedicated support webpages.
‘The Chaplaincy is also available on campus, as a space for quiet reflection.’
A Union spokesperson said: ‘This is a very sad time at the University and our thoughts are with the family and friends of those affected. We are working alongside the University to ensure students are fully supported.
‘The Students’ Union would remind students that support services can be sought from Student Hub during the week and Spectrum Life 24 hours a day.’
