The 1 Percent Club knocked out all of its players on Saturday night with a particularly tricky question, leaving the £97,000 prize pot unclaimed.
There were five players remaining at the time, all hopeful that they could be in with a share of the money.
For those unfamiliar with its premise, the quiz show sees players answer an increasingly tricky series of logic-based questions until they have been whittled down to the top 1 percent.
Then host Lee Mack, 56, hit them with the following question: ‘What new word links the capitalised words below?’
He then read this sentence: ‘My SON TED ate raw FOOD and got SICK, then went to BED with me by his SIDE.’
As is the case with every question on the show, the players had just 30 seconds to try and work it out.

Lee then asked the players their answers and it was soon clear that no consensus had been reached, with all five of them reaching different conclusions.
One player was actually left so stumped by the question that they couldn’t even attempt to answer it.
Other possible answers suggested included ‘new’ and ‘well’.
Lee then explained that the right answer was ‘sea’.
If you’re wondering why, it’s because the word sea can be added to the start of each capitalised word to create a new word – season, seated, seafood, seasick, seabed and seaside.
Lee was left gobsmacked that no one had managed to get the answer after another particularly difficult question knocked out 16 players in the second round.
To become a part of the top 80 percent, they had to work out what linked images of the following – a ball of string, a metallic square and a cloud with a face that appeared to be blowing.
The question asked: ‘In this cryptic puzzle, where would you find the following images?’
Lee then explained that the right answer was ‘sea’ as it can be added to the start of each capitalised word to create a new word
Lee was left visibly gobsmacked that no one had managed to get the answer on the show that he has previously praised for being tough
Players were given the following options: ‘In an orchestra, In a cinema or On a football pitch.’
The correct answer, if you guessed it, was in an orchestra, with the images representing its brass, wind and strings sections.
Lee Mack previously told The Sun that he likes tough quiz shows.
He said: ‘I like quizzes that are tough.
‘I watch University Challenge knowing that if I’m lucky I’ll get a couple of questions right, and I’m more than happy with that because when you get it right, you feel great.
‘That’s what I really like about The 1% Club.’
