Fay Henderson’s rink retained their women’s title at the Scottish Curling Championships in Dumfries with a dominant 10-2 victory over Rebecca Morrison’s team.
A three in the fourth end put Henderson’s rink in control against the competition’s top-ranked side and they pressed home the advantage from there to complete an unbeaten tournament.
Robyn Munro, Hayley Duff, Katie McMillan and Lisa Davie made up the winning team with Henderson, who will now hope to be selected for the World Championships in South Korea in March.
“I’m absolutely buzzing,” Henderson said. “It’s great to be able to win the Scottish title two years in a row, especially in my first two years out of junior curling. It’s great to do that so early in my career.
“Winning this was a step in being selected for the World Championships. We’ve done everything we can now.”
The men’s final on Saturday will be contested by Ross Whyte’s rink – defending Scottish champions – and Bruce Mouat’s team, ranked number one in the world.
It is being shown live on the BBC Sport website and BBC iPlayer from 13:00 GMT.
