Opinions on whether smartphones should be banned from schools are mixed, with some people saying it would be beneficial while others are less convinced.
A Senedd inquiry decided against an “outright” ban in Wales and said instead schools should get more Welsh government support to set their own restrictions.
“I’ve got a 12-year-old son who’s got a smartphone, against my wishes… I think ban the smartphones in school, definitely,” said one parent.
But others said banning phones only led to pupils hiding them and “abusing” them.
