Roads have reopened as a stand-off continues between a man and armed police in Sheffield.
Officers were called to the Gateway apartment block on Broad Street just after 19:00 GMT on Monday, following reports a man was in possession of weapons.
Residents were evacuated to the nearby Ponds Forge sports centre and the city saw widespread travel disruption.
South Yorkshire Police said residents remained evacuated although Sheffield Parkway had reopened in both directions with public transport resuming as normal.
The force added it would “work with residents to ensure that any pets within the building are cared for and reunited where possible”.
The cordon has been reduced significantly from Tuesday, when Broad Street and surrounding roads were shut.
Sheffield city centre saw major travel disruption, with no trams able to run between Sheffield Station and City Hall.
Ambulances, fire engines and about 10 police cars attended, but this was reduced to three police cars by about 07:30 GMT on Wednesday.
