Prince Louis’s brutal two-word reply to a telling off from Princess Charlotte revealed

Prince Louis’s brutal two-word reply to a telling off from Princess Charlotte revealed

Catherine truly had her hands full during Trooping the Colour on June 15, 2024.

Not only was she making her first public appearance since revealing her shock cancer diagnosis, but the Princess of Wales was left to look after her youngest son Prince Louis as her husband Prince William took part in the parade on horseback.

Louis, six, appeared bored during the long, formal event and was seen scrunching his face, playing with curtains and yawning.

But the youngster perked up when the bagpipes started playing during the Horse Guard Parade, shaking his hips in time to the music from the balcony of the Major General’s Office.

Thankfully, Catherine had the help of her daughter Princess Charlotte to keep Louis in line.

According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, the princess, nine, scolded her dancing brother, and said: ‘You have to stop doing that. Watch the parade’, to which he bluntly replied: ‘I won’t’.

An insistent Charlotte then added: ‘Do as you’re told’. But Hickling told The Mirror that Louis stubbornly responded: ‘Nope’.

Meanwhile, their mother the Princess of Wales appeared to smile while watching the interaction between her children, before she regained her previous, more serious demeanour.

Charlotte continued to keep an eye on her mischievous younger brother as the royal family gathered on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

She instructed Louis to ‘stand up straight’ and put his ‘hands down’ in preparation for the national anthem.

The little prince is beloved by many royal fans thanks to the spirited behaviour he has shown at previous public appearances – and Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 was no different.

During the fourth day of celebration, George, Charlotte and Louis rode down the Mall in a carriage with their mother Catherine and grandmother Camilla.

Both Charlotte and Louis were spotted eagerly waving at fans but the youngest of the Wales children seemed to get a little carried away,

Crowds were delighted as Louis waved at them enthusiastically but his sister was less impressed.

A peeved looking Charlotte was quick to respond to her brother’s ‘window wiper’ wave, pushing his hand down as she appeared to tell him off.

Unbothered by the stern words, Louis almost immediately began waving at the assembled crowds once more.

During the carriage ride, the children’s mother Catherine was seen engaging with them, with a lip reader suggesting the Duchess of Cambridge kept talking to ensure they weren’t overwhelmed by the enormity of the big occasion.

At one point, the Duchess, then 40, appeared to say: ‘This is wonderful! Look at all these people!’ as she travelled with her three young children and the Duchess of Cornwall towards Horse Guards Parade.

Charlotte was later spotted telling off her youngest brother, Louis, again as he was absentmindedly sucking his fingers during the Platinum Pageant.

Whilst talented singers and bands such as Queen, Diana Ross, Ella Eyre and George Ezra played for the royals, Louis was filmed fidgeting and putting his hands in his mouth.

Charlotte is seen pushing Louis’ arm down and away from his mouth, to stop him from sucking his fingers.

The well-behaved princess appeared to brandish her fist at her younger brother, perhaps warning him against sucking his fingers again.

At this point, their mother, who was known as the Duchess of Cambridge at the time, swooped in and whispered something to Charlotte.

Undeterred by the ticking off, Louis then mocks his old sister, brandishing his own fist in the same way, before his mother gently pushes his arm back onto his lap.

Charlotte appeared to have a double job on her hands during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations as she was also spotted keeping her older brother in line.

As the young princess stood on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside her parents, Charlotte noticed that George, who is second in line to the throne, had his arms up on the ledge rather than by his side and appeared to be fidgeting.

Charlotte was having none of it and proceeded to give George an ear full.

Obliging to the demands of his sister, George quickly reshuffled his stance, placing his arms down by his side before standing up straight as the national anthem played.

After Charlotte had a word with George, the late Queen then appeared to turn to him and also say something about him putting his arms down.

The Queen and Princess Charlotte seemed to be in sync, as they both waved to thousands of fans standing on the Mall at the same time.

Royal fans have likened the young Princess to her great-grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth and compared it to when the monarch told off her grandson Prince William in 2016.

Charlotte’s father – who was dressed in his dashing red uniform – was crouching down on the Buckingham Palace balcony and chatting to his brother, Prince Harry, when the Queen gave him a telling off.

Dressed in a bright green ensemble, she could be seen tapping his shoulder before gesturing for him to get up.

A TikTok page posted a video comparing the two moments prompting enthusiasts of The Firm to lovingly label Charlotte as the ‘new Queen’.

Fans say she keeps her siblings grounded as the late Queen Elizabeth once did.
