Four more men have been arrested in Glasgow as part of an investigation into an ongoing gangland feud.

Police have now arrested 24 people after series of assaults, shootings and firebombing attacks in Glasgow and Edinburgh since March.

Two men, aged 18 and 43, were arrested and charged following a vehicle stop on Balmore Road in Milton on Thursday.

A 20-year-old man was charged over a fire in Bishopbriggs on 8 April. A 32-year-old man was arrested over a serious organised crime incident on Castlebay Street, Glasgow on 16 April

In Edinburgh, further raids resulted in a number of items including money and mobile phones being seized.

Det Ch Supt David Ferry described the incidents as “dangerous and abhorrent”.

The offences include attempted murder, fire-raising and drugs and firearms charges.

He said: “The high number of arrests made during this investigation highlights the ongoing work that officers have been doing to target those responsible for these attacks.

“While the number of incidents has decreased since we started this investigation I want to make it clear that we will not stop until we bring those responsible for this criminality to justice.”
