Two people have been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a teenager in Newcastle, County Down.
It happened on the Dundrum Road at 19:45 BST on Friday.
Police said the victim, aged in his late teens, sustained a number of stab wounds to his face and head.
“Two males, one aged in his teens, and one aged in his 20s, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place,” the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said in a statement.
“They remain in custody at this time, assisting with police enquiries.”
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) also attended the incident.
