Since returning to Instagram at the beginning of 2025, the Duchess of Sussex has only posted to her account a handful of times.
On New Year’s Day, Meghan Markle, 43, made an epic comeback on the platform as she teased a new project with a cryptic black-and-white video of herself that was shot on a beach.
While her profile currently only has five posts – including the teaser for her since-delayed Netflix series – it appears Meghan is banking new content after she was spotted fervently documenting the 2025 Invictus Games.
Viewers tuning into the Invictus Games that are currently underway in Canada joked that Meghan was in full influencer mode as she filmed close-ups of Prince Harry while the couple watched the opening ceremony in Vancouver.
Meghan was photographed filming the glitzy event, which featured performances from the likes of Katy Perry and Chris Martin, before swinging the camera round on her husband of seven years.
Harry was seen smiling and clapping along to performances, as he took centre stage in the video captured by the Duchess – and those watching on joked the heartwarming clip would no doubt be on her social media in no time at all.
The wife of Prince Harry returned to Instagram earlier this year after stepping away from the platform in 2020, and it appears she is foregoing her Duchess of Sussex title by simply using the handle @meghan.
And while her first few posts were strategically curated and professionally produced, it would seem that Meghan is rethinking her social media approach in a bid to appeal to younger audiences amid what experts called the ‘TikTok-ifaction’ of her online presence.

Last week, for instance, Meghan thanked singer Billie Eilish for helping her out with a charity request in the aftermath of the Los Angeles wildfires in a video shared on her Instagram Stories that featured her talking directly to the camera with overlaid white text.
Meghan has continued to add a personal touch to her social media content with videos and photographs filmed at the ongoing Invictus Games, the multi-tournament sporting event started by Prince Harry in honour of injured, sick, and wounded army veterans.
Barely two days into the sporting event, and Meghan has already shared more content on the account than she did in the first month of reactivating her Instagram profile – and it would appear several of the clips have been taken by the duchess herself.
From selfies with fans to tournament highlights, Meghan is religiously documenting the latest edition of the Invictus Games – and first ever to feature winter sports – that is being held in Vancouver and Whistler.
In one such Story, Meghan told her 1.7 million followers that she is ‘learning about Curling’ and discovered the sport is similar to playing ‘a game of chess on ice’.
Meghan, who kept warm in her £3,000 Hermes puffer jacket, was seated in the stands alongside Prince Harry at the Vancouver Convention Centre where the Wheelchair Curling and Wheelchair Basketball tournaments were held on February 9.
Curling is a team sport that is played on ice between two teams as they take it in turns to slide stones of granite towards a target – known as a House.
Wheelchair Curling is an adaptation of the sport for athletes with a disability affecting their lower limbs.

During the matches last evening, Meghan was seen snapping photographs of fellow attendees in the stands as well as the players while cheering for the participating teams.
She also shared behind-the-scenes footage from a special storytime event organised for the children of the athletes on Sunday morning, as well as somewhat grainy footage of trees covered in green fairylights during a nocturnal drive.
With six days until the closing ceremony, fans can expect to see Prince Harry and Meghan at events through the week – with the Duchess’ phone presumably pointed at all the action.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be enjoying ‘rock star’ status during their stay in Vancouver after booking a £5,000 a night suite that comes with its own private elevator and rooftop patio.
Meghan, who has attended four previous games, is said to be focused on supporting her husband and the games in the coming week.
A source said: ‘Her attendance underscores her support for her husband and the mission of Invictus, a cause that is deeply personal to both of them.
‘While the Duchess has several exciting projects on the horizon, her family remains her top priority. As always, she and the Duke will continue to stand together in support of the causes they care about, just as they did during their visits to Colombia and Nigeria last year.
‘Her focus at the Games will be on uplifting her husband, the competitors, and sharing their stories.’

The Invictus Games have always held a special significance for Harry and Meghan, after the Duke of Sussex first founded the Paralympics-style tournament in 2014.
The couple famously appeared in public together for the first time at the Toronto Invictus Games in 2017, pictured hand-in-hand at a wheelchair tennis event.
In 2023, Meghan and Harry cheered on athletes among the crowds at the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Their latest appearance at the ongoing 2025 Invictus Games, which will move to Whistler tomorrow, on Sunday comes after Meghan delivered an impromptu speech at a private event to say how she feels ‘at home’ in Canada.
Speaking hours after flying in from California on a private jet Meghan said: ‘I was not planning on speaking tonight, and we just arrived, I don’t know, a couple of hours ago, and I touched Canadian soil and I went, oh, it feels like home.’
Turning to her husband she said: ‘We are just thrilled to be here, and I would be remiss if I didn’t take the opportunity to introduce someone who means a lot to me. And I know he means quite a lot to all of you. You will see him throughout this week.
‘You will see him at the Games. You will see him probably curling with you, cheering you on.’
