A man has been found dead in floodwater in North Yorkshire, police have said.
The man, who has not been identified, was found in an area of flooding near Intake Lane in Beal, near Knottingley.
Police have released a photograph of a distinctive jumper similar to the one he was wearing in the hope that someone may recognise it and get in touch.
A spokesperson said the man was white, in his 50s or 60s, and was thought to have entered the water in the past 24-48 hours.
He was wearing brown walking boots, blue jeans with a brown belt, the knitted jumper with zip and hood, and possibly a dark green waterproof coat.
North Yorkshire Police said: “Despite extensive inquiries, including with our colleagues in Humberside and West Yorkshire Police, we have been unable to identify him.
“He was found without any identification or personal belongings.”
