Love It Or List It viewers ‘switched off’ in fury after a ‘painfully ungrateful’ couple complained that their £650k home with indoor pool and sauna was ‘bad for their mental health’.

Wednesday’s instalment of the Channel 4 show saw Wolverhampton-based couple office manager Gordon and GP Suky ask for help from Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer.

The pair, who share three kids, were unsure if they should renovate their £650,000 four-bedroom pad, or find another house to make memories in.

Suki – who was team list it – explained that she was keen to move somewhere with more light and confessed that their longue was ‘affecting their mental health’.

She said: ‘There are quite a few things that don’t work for me in the house, the number one main thing is how dark our longue is.

‘I call it the cave. For my mental health I need some more natural light.’

Many took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to complain she was spoiled and there was in fact nothing wrong with her home, which even had an indoor pool and sauna.

One brutally said: ‘I’m switching off now! Pains in the a***.’

Another wrote: ‘She is a nightmare. Has she seen her house before complaining about other people’s !

A third added: ‘An hour max in the kitchen is not a reason to move, especially when your kitchen is that massive, ungrateful people always on this show.’

A fourth tweeted: ‘She is a nightmare. Has she seen her house before complaining about other peoples’ !#lioli.’

‘First they just need to give that house a bit of a tidy. Second buy furniture to fit their house. Third they’re complaining and THEY’VE A F****ING INDOOR POOL,’ a fifth said.

Although Suki seemed very keen to sell the house, that’s not what happened at the end of the instalment.

Instead the couple decided to invest £70,000 to totally transform their property.

They ended up changing their conservatory into a family room, gave their kitchen a makeover and also created an office space.

Suki explained: ‘It was a house before. Now it’s a home.’

Sitting down with the hosts, the pair spoke about their plans.

Phil pointed out: ‘The whole place has transformed.

Suki explained: ‘It’s how I always imagined it would be.’

Gordon added: ‘But I think it was a bigger project than either of us realised.’

Suki explained: ‘The worst process was last winter when we had a board across the back.

‘There wasn’t a back end of the house and we couldn’t keep the kids warm in her beds.’

After explaining that they wanted to love it, Kirstie told them it would have been a mistake not to.

Kirstie and Phil’s Love It Or List It airs on Channel 4 and is available to stream on channel4.com.
