HSBC is DOWN: Banking app and online banking crashes – leaving thousands of frustrated customers unable to access payment services

It is one of the most popular banking services in the UK, but it now appears that HSBC has gone down.

According to Down Detector, problems started at 3:10 pm this afternoon and are affecting users across the UK.

The issue appears to be affecting both online banking and mobile banking services with some customers also reporting issues with their online login.

By 3:46 pm, the issue had led to more than 1,700 outage reports.

A HSBC spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘We’re really sorry that some services are currently unavailable in online and mobile banking.

‘We understand this is frustrating, and our teams are investigating the issue.’

It is one of the most popular banking services in the UK, but it now appears that HSBC has gone down.

HSBC is yet to comment on the cause for the unexpected issue, but it currently only appears to be affecting some UK users.

On social media, frustrated customers have flocked to air their anger over the service outage.

One commenter wrote on X: ‘@HSBC_UK Trying to log on to online banking. Not getting beyond enter your username. Trying mobile app – service not available.’

Another added: ‘Disgusting that the mobile banking app is down.’

While one frustrated customer wrote: ‘Give me my money!’
