A high street fashion chain with 105 stores across the UK will close 12 of its branches in the coming weeks.
Select Fashion will close a dozen of its shops in a matter of weeks with the majority of stores affected being in the North East of England.
It comes after the fashion brand fell into administration in 2019, with the retailer blaming the tough climate on the high street.
The retailer, owned by Turkish entrepreneur Cafer Mahiroğlu, was later bought out of administration by Genus UK Limited.
The chain entered into a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) last summer, according to recent filings on Companies House.
A CVA is a way of restructuring that allows a company to negotiate with its creditors to pay off its debts, such as reducing rent costs with landlords.
In documents seen by the Sun, it reveals how staff were told a total of 12 stores would shutter across February and March.
The list of stores include Southshields, Peterlee, Thornaby, Hartlepool, Scarborough, Hull Hessle, Hull St Stephens, Ashington and Scunthorpe.

A number of stores have already closed including sites in Wolverhampton and Kidderminister. Its Scunthorpe branch was also earmarked for closure in January.
The store in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales is due to close in March along with the Wellingborough store on March 15. The Wiltshire branch in Chippenham is reported to be closing down.
These closures also follow a string of closures made by the bargain fashion store last year.
Select Fashion bosses confirmed the closure of its Ipswich, Kent, and Cwmbran branches in 2024.
It also closed its branch in the Erith Riverside Shopping Centre in London.
The bargain retailer was founded in the early 1980s and sells items such as clothing, accessories and footwear. It currently has more than around 105 stores still up and running.
The Mail Online has approached Select Fashion for comment.
