GoogleA woman is to stand trial accused of murdering a 97-year-old man at his flat in Dundee.
Tandy Swinton allegedly attacked William Lambie at the house in Dryburgh Gardens last April by pushing him to the ground.
Prosecutors allege the 43-year-old pretended she was a carer to gain entry to the flat, before becoming aggressive and demanding money.
Ms Swinton’s legal team pleaded not guilty on her behalf during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
Prosecutors state that Mr Lambie was so severely injured that he died at St Columba’s Nursing Home in Dundee five weeks later.
Ms Swinton faces a separate charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
It is alleged she grabbed a community alarm belonging to Mr Lambie and tried to stop him getting help.
Ms Swinton is alleged to have told an operator that there were “no issues and no assistance required” despite knowing the pensioner was hurt.
Ms Swinton is also accused of repeatedly behaving in a threatening and abusive manner towards an 82-year-old woman over two days in April 2024.
This is alleged to have occurred at another flat in Dryburgh Gardens.
It is claimed Ms Swinton put the woman in a state of fear and alarm by repeatedly ringing her doorbell and asking for money.
Lord Matthews set a trial for October at the High Court in Edinburgh.
