‘Beautiful’ stag parade caught by Peak District photographer

The “beauty” of three deer making their way over an icy road was captured by a photographer in Derbyshire.

Peak District-based “Villager Jim” was on the spot to photograph the sight while out looking for a barn owl in the snow near Beeley.

The Eyam photographer, who posts his pictures anonymously, said he and a farmer both stopped in their tracks as the trio passed by.

The image has been liked by thousands of people on Facebook since it was posted on Tuesday.

He said: “I was bumbling along looking for a particular barn owl if I’m honest.

“I was on the back lanes on the moors in very icy conditions, when all of a sudden these three beautiful stags came running out of the woodland.

“What made it special is the farmer in his tractor had seen them.

“We both slowed to a standstill to watch the beauty of these guys on their way to the moorland.”
