The first episode of Amandaland aired on Wednesday evening – and TikTok is already brimming with recreations of Amanda’s ‘viral’ dance to mark the occasion.
The spin-off of the award-winning Motherland sees alpha mother Amanda (played by Lucy Punch) relocate from the celeb-loved leafy west London neighbourhood of Chiswick to South Harlesden – which she refers to as ‘SoHa’.
Moving to a new postcode, she reconnects with her former friend Anne (Philippa Dunne) and attempts to blend in with a new school crowd, including laid-back parents Della (Siobhan McSweeney) and Fi (Rochenda Sandall).
Diehard fans, who are brimming with excitement for the unfolding series, have marked the new release by posting themselves completing Amanda’s TikTok dance from Motherland.
In the hilarious Motherland moment, the aspiring influencer took to the stage to proudly perform her dance sequence, which, to her delight, gained ‘400 likes on TikTok’.
In an attempt that would no doubt make Amanda proud, Brighton-based Sam Morris completed the dance on his TikTok account @justsammorris.
‘I miss Motherland with all my heart but I will definitely be sat for Amandaland,’ Sam wrote.
Elsewhere, TikTok account @nomumleftbehind rallied her friends together and made the dance a group effort, which gained over 130 thousand views.

Elsewhere, Matt Pitchford from the UK danced to a backing track of Lucy Bruce’s character saying, ‘are you kidding me Anne? Wait you seriously want me to do my dance that got 400 likes on TikTok? What are you like? I don’t even know if I can remember it.’
He wasn’t the only one, and in another rendition, UK-based George Garaway posted his version while donning a wig in the style of Amanda’s hair, adding: ‘I’m too excited for Amandaland’.
Viewers took to the comment section to share their thoughts on the clip, with one writing: ‘Lucy Punch supremacy’.
‘Amanda would love all this attention she’s getting on TikTok,’ a second user commented.
Another Motherland fan added: ‘She is such a DIVA’.
A fourth commented on George’s appearance, saying: ‘You look like you could be her sister’.

In the new series, Amanda struggles to adapt to her new South Harlesden surroundings.
Adding to the chaos is her ever-present mother, Felicity (Joanna Lumley), who only makes things more complicated.
However, while the spin-off brought back some familiar faces from Motherland, many viewers felt it lacked the same charm as the original and questioned why the BBC didn’t just continue the beloved series instead.
Taking to X, viewers said: ‘#Amandaland not ringing the bell at the moment, not sure the character is strong enough to carry a series – makes you realise what a good ensemble #Motherland was,’

Speaking about the series, Tanya Qureshi, Head of Comedy at the BBC said: ‘We can’t wait for audiences to see Amanda’s new chapter, brought to life by such a talented cast and a wonderfully sharp set of characters. It’s going to be a real treat.’
Sharon Horgan, Co-Founder of Merman said: ‘I was genuinely sad having to say goodbye to Motherland.
