Mother, 24, threatened to burn down woman’s home and break her legs after they both had a baby with the same man

A mother who made vicious threats towards her love rival after they both had a baby with the same man has been fined.

Paris Frost, 24, terrified her victim by telling her she would break her legs and burn her house down.

She also verbally abused the woman on the phone and said ‘I will never leave you alone’, Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard.

Frost has now been handed a 12-month community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement for 25 days after pleading guilty to stalking causing serious alarm or distress.

She was also made the subject of a restraining order which prevents her from contacting the victim or going to her home for five years.

Prosecutor David Bennett said the victim and the defendant both had a relationship with the same man and both had a child with him which ’caused problems between them’.

On March 27, 2022, the complainant received a message telling her to ‘watch her house’.

On June 3 Frost called her and made further threats to burn down her house.

The victim told her to go away and leave her alone. The defendant said: ‘I will never leave you alone.’

Mr Bennett explained how the victim was so distressed that she moved to her mother’s house.

A message on Facebook under a man’s name said: ‘Sleep with one eye open.’

The court heard the father of both women’s children had his van set on fire. The victim received a message stating: ‘You are next.’

A few minutes later another message said: ‘Your boyfriend is having his two legs broken shortly. I will be doing the same to you. You will be getting your legs snapped.’

Mr Bennett said the victim felt scared and intimidated by the threats made by the defendant.

Frost’s abuse continued with her calling her victim a ‘dirty w****’ in one message and saying she was an alcoholic in another.

On September 21, Frost reported the victim as missing on the Goldenhill and Sandyford Facebook page.

This lead to the complainant being approached by members of the public when she went out which left her feeling embarrassed.

In a victim impact statement the woman said: ‘I feel scared to be in my own home to the extent I had to move to the other side of the city. I feel scared to leave the house.

‘I feel someone is always watching me. I feel really uncomfortable to go anywhere and try to reduce any risk of seeing her.’

Frost, of Broadfield Drive, Sandyford, pleaded guilty to stalking causing serious alarm or distress between March 26, 2022 and October 5, 2022.

Barry White, mitigating, said there had been a significant period of time since the offending took place and there have been no further offences since.

Mr White said: ‘The complainant lives at the bottom of her street. They pass. Nothing ever happens. Since October 2022 nothing has happened.’

He said Frost is a single mum with two children and added: ‘She is embarrassed by her behaviour.’

Judge Trevor Meegan said stalking was an ‘ugly and unpleasant offence’.

He added: ‘You sent threatening and abusive messages on Facebook.

‘You verbally abused the complainant over the phone. You posted a missing person appeal on Facebook.

‘You threatened to burn down her house and snap her legs. You said you would never leave her alone.

‘She was scared and had to leave her home. She moved for a period to the other side of the city. She has had messages from fake accounts.’

Frost was fined £500 and will serve 14 days in prison if she fails to pay.
