A motorcyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after a serious crash in the Scottish Borders.
The accident happened on the A7 at Teindside Bridge, about six miles south of Hawick, at about 16:30 on Sunday.
The 28-year-old biker was riding his Yamaha R6 vehicle southbound alongside two other motorcyclists when he appears to have lost control, police said.
He was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where hospital staff described his condition as “critical”.
The road was closed for about six hours and reopened at about 22:30.
Sgt Jamie Humpage appealed for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
He said: “Our investigation to establish the cause of the crash is ongoing and I urge anyone who witnessed it take place to contact us.
“If you were driving on this road around the time and have any information or dash-cam footage that may assist, please get in touch.”
