A man and his dog have been killed by a car that allegedly ‘flipped’ on top of them after crashing into a taxi.
Emergency services scrambled to the junction of Hollyhedge Road and Greenwood Drive, Wythenshawe, at around 5pm yesterday.
They found a man and his dog who had sustained fatal injuries after being struck by a vehicle which collided with another car.
A woman in her 40s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She has since been released on bail.
It is believed the collision took place after the vehicle, a black car, collided with another vehicle at the junction after travelling south on Greenwood Drive.
The vehicle then hit the pedestrian and his dog, sadly causing fatal injuries. Reports from the scene yesterday said the black car ‘flipped over’ and hit the man after crashing into a taxi.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to assist them with their investigations.
