
A man has been arrested by officers investigating the murder of a man who was found dead at a property in Glasgow.
The body of James Jarvis, 55, was found in Monar Street in the city’s Possilpark area at 07:20 on Wednesday.
Officers said his car, a black VW Golf, was discovered nearby in Auckland Street and they are investigating how it came to be there.
Police Scotland said a 38-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the death. Officers earlier said it was a “challenging investigation” and have appealed to the public to assists their inquiries.
Det Ch Insp Graham McCreadie, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Jarvis’s family at what is a very difficult time and they have asked for their privacy to be respected.
“It is vital we find out answers for them and trace whoever is responsible as soon as possible.
“Any piece of information, no matter how small or insignificant you might think it is, could prove vital so I urge people to make contact with us.”
An online portal has also been set up where members of the public can submit information directly to Police Scotland.
