Being the better half of a pop star, Georgia Jones rarely gets to step out of her husband’s shadow.
But the wife of Danny Jones, one quarter of boyband McFly, had been excited to take part in an event at London’s ExCel Centre this weekend. She was due to join other celebrity mums to swap tips on motherhood with an audience, then share it on her podcast, Mum’s The Word.
But I can reveal that following her humiliation at last Saturday’s Brit awards, where Danny was seen kissing Love Island star Maura Higgins, Georgia has pulled out of all her upcoming work engagements, including the money-spinning ExCel gig.
Georgia, a former Miss England, is said to be devastated by her husband’s actions.
This week rumours were swirling throughout the music industry that she and Danny were spending time apart, having both moved out of their west-London home to deal with the fallout.
I’m told Danny has given a grovelling apology to his wife, after he was caught drunkenly locking lips with Irish beauty Maura at a raucous party at London’s 180 House, part of the exclusive members-only club Soho House.
But those who know Georgia – the mother of Danny’s seven-year-old son Cooper – say that it might not be enough to save their 11-year marriage.
‘She’s more forgiving than most,’ a pal tells me. ‘But this might be one step too far.’

And who can blame Georgia? Sources tell me she has been a ‘very patient wife’ – perhaps something of a prerequisite for marrying a pop star with millions of fawning fans.
Last year she put her own modelling career on the back burner while Danny’s time was taken up with a McFly tour, a victorious stint on ITV’s The Masked Singer and a lengthy series of The Voice, which saw the musician mentor his own ‘Team Danny’ to victory last October.
Back then the pair were readying the family for a big house move to Chiswick, west London, then Danny made the last minute decision to sign up for the I’m A Celebrity reality show.
He left Georgia to oversee the relocation on her own, while, 10,000 miles away, he won over the nation with his boy-next-door appeal, that eventually saw him crowned King of the Jungle.
Even Danny confessed: ‘I’m surprised she’s still with me to be honest because she moved house all by herself.’
But it looks as if Danny’s hard work in winning over legions of new fans on three of ITV’s biggest television shows has all been undone in one drunken night out.
For in the early hours of Sunday morning, while Georgia shunned the limelight to look after their son, Danny was being whisked from the adoring crowds of the O2 arena to a private afterparty hosted by Universal Music. There, at the star-studded bash, Danny reunited with his jungle campmate Maura.

Neither Georgia nor her husband Danny, pictured with their son Cooper, have spoken in public since he was caught kissing Love Island star Maura
The pair, whose chemistry was palpable on the show, were seen intimately chatting, as she lay her head adoringly on his shoulder.
Then, just before 3am, she was caught locking lips with Danny in that ‘drunken kiss’ before they left in separate cars.
Neither Georgia nor Danny, who she married in 2014, have spoken in public since and Georgia’s 260,000 Instagram followers have been kept in the dark.
But a friend of the loyal wife told me she has found the last week ‘very distressing’.
They added: ‘Georgia is trying to find a way forward for her family. Sitting down for a Q & A in front of a live audience is not what she needs right now.
‘She is mortified at how this has all played out and can’t help but feel humiliated. It’s blown apart her world. The idea of doing any more work in the near future is also something she couldn’t bear to think about right now.’
I’m told her sister Lauren, an obstetrics and gynaecology consultant, has been a ‘pillar of strength’ to the young mum, and she is also close to her parents Jean and Gareth.
Danny and Georgia met in 2008, but she was unimpressed when the McFly star told her he had ‘two other dates lined up’ when he first asked her out.
She said: ‘He was a bit of a d***, and I didn’t really like him.’
But a determined Danny didn’t give up and tried to win a date with the blonde model who was crowned Miss England the year before.
Georgia has said: ‘I said no. I was totally chilled when we went on the date. I didn’t really want to. My mum went, “Oh darling, what have you got to lose? Go on, go and enjoy yourself.”’
She revealed to a podcast recently: ‘I said he’s probably going to be a bit of a top sh*****.’
Georgia’s instinct was correct if the tabloid stories of the era are to be believed, for it’s not the first time Danny has hit the headlines over a forbidden kiss. In 2008, he parted with his then girlfriend, photographer Olivia Shaw, after his head was turned by another former Miss England, Laura Coleman.
But nonetheless Georgia finally agreed to a date in 2009, and the couple married near Georgia’s family home at St Mary’s Priory Church in Old Malton, Yorkshire.
I’m told they are now at least on speaking terms and are finding a path forward.
‘She loves Danny, but she is hurt. Georgia’s priority is, and will always be, her boy Cooper. She wants to protect him from all this madness,’ said one friend.
But there is one thing that is playing deeply on Georgia’s mind as her husband embarks on a tour with McFly in May.
The extensive trip will see him on the road until November, taking in more than 40 dates across the UK and Ireland.
A friend said: ‘Can you just imagine how Georgia will feel while he is away for that amount of time? Who knows where this ends, if he can kiss Maura so publicly, what else could happen while he’s on tour?’
